Catarina Lins Oliveira is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at Princeton University. She holds a BA in Languages and Literature from Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio), and a MA in Literature, Culture and Contemporaneity from the same institution.
In Brazil, Catarina worked at independent publishing houses, and as a poet she has published Correio da noite (Macondo, 2023), El teatro del mundo (Zindo y Gafuri, 2019), Na capital sul-americana do porco light (7Letras, 2018), O teatro do mundo (7Letras, 2017), among others.
In Princeton, she co-founded and co-organizes the Boquitas Pintadas Film Club, and in the Lasa Conference of 2024 she is organizing the panel "Re-thinking Queerness in Latin American Cultural Production”.
Her research interests include contemporary poetry, sound studies/sonic politics, film, and queer theory, and her thesis interrogates the work of Brazilian poet Ana Cristina Cesar from the intersection of queer and sound studies.
