Caroline Matas is a Lecturer in Gender and Sexuality Studies. She earned her MDiv from Harvard University in 2017 and her PhD in Religion from Princeton University in 2023. She also holds graduate certificates in Religious Studies and Education from Harvard University and Gender and Sexuality Studies from Princeton University. Her work has focused on 20th and 21st century American evangelical uses of media to maintain and contest boundaries of gender, race, and sexuality. Her current book project is an adaptation of her dissertation, Splitting Sides: On Humor in 21st Century American Evangelical Media
