In 2022, 40 students graduated with a Gender and Sexuality Studies (GSS) certificate — more graduates than 27 other major programs. And yet, no one graduated as a GSS major, because the University doesn’t offer one. In fact, Princeton is the only Ivy League school that doesn’t offer some form of gender studies major. It’s time for that to change.
Apply now to join the team as an editor for the Princeton Journal of Gender and Sexuality Studies, a biannual publication that features undergraduate work throughout the year. The Program in Gender and Sexuality Studies is proud to offer two distinct course offerings for the Fall 2024 semester. These courses cover overarching themes and topics from the history of LGBTQ+ communities, to feminism in science fiction and more!
Additionally, GSS 201 is a require course for students minoring in GSS.

GSS welcomed the Class of 2028 at the Academic Expo! Students filled Frick Chemistry Laboratory and stopped by the GSS table where they met with staff, asked questions, learned about classes, took home some neat giveaways, and were able to sign up to get more information about the GSS offerings!
The Kenneth Sherrill Prize is given for the best dissertation proposal for an empirical study of lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender (LGBT) topics in political science. Nancy's dissertation is titled, “Making Autocracy Queer: A Dance in ‘Law’ Between LGBTQ Movements and Authoritarian States in China and Singapore.”
