Childbirth Activism: What's at Stake? Talk with Robbie Davis-Floyd

Who should control the birthing process? Prof. Davis-Floyd will discuss the implications of childbirth practices including holistic, technocratic, and humanistic approaches, and what is at stake for mothers, midwives, and doctors.
Robbie Davis-Floyd Ph.D. is a Senior Research Fellow in Anthropology at the University of Texas, Austin, and an Adjunct Associate Professor of Anthropology at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. She is a cultural anthropologist specializing in medical, ritual and gender studiens and the anthropology of reproduction.
