Caitlin joined the English department in 2011 after having received her B.A. in English from the University of Pennsylvania (2007) and her M.A. in Cultures of Empire, Resistance, and Postcoloniality from the University of York (2008). Her research interests include contemporary literature and culture, gender and sexuality, postcolonial literature, African literature, nationalism and the novel, feminist and queer theory, theories of affect, and taste and aesthetics. Caitlin has co-chaired the Graduate Action Committee (GAC), the Working Group for Graduate Issues (WGGI), and the Postcolonial Colloquium since the beginning of the 2012-2013 academic year. Last year, she also acted as the Graduate Coordinator for the Center of African American Studies Faculty-Graduate Seminar.
